Haircuts for Two

Our first haircuts

For the past couple of weeks people have been stopping me and commenting on my cute little girls. I promise Brody was NOT dressed like a girl at all, but he did have some long wavy hair. So... it was time for his first haircut. I know he has not turned one yet, but I was getting upset with people asking if he was a girl. There are still a few waves on top, but they are not nearly as long as before. He just sat and ate some goldfish while I snipped his curly hair. Of course I could not leave Maura out, so I snipped her long rat tail! Maybe I was concentrating on doing a decent job or was just mad enough that people thought Brody was a girl, but I was not emotional in the least at cutting their hair. I did save a few curls though!

Another first....Oreos

Brody and Maura had so much fun eating an oreo cookie the other day. Maura took little bites and barely made a mess at all. Brody shoved the entire cookie in his mouth right away. Of course neither one of the two left any crumbs for Chatham to clean up!

Eating Cheerios

Brody and Maura ate Cheerios for the first time this morning. Maura ate all of hers right away as if she had eaten them before. Brody was not too sure about them at first. He moved them around on the tray, dropped some on the floor, and shared a few with Chatham. When he finally tasted them, Brody realized he liked the Cheerios and was a little mad he shared with the dog!

Playtime

Maura and Brody are trying to stay up later in the evenings, so they can see Chris when he gets home from working tax season hours. Last night they played, laughed, and really just squealed at one another for quite some time. I finally started videotaping them with my little camera. At least I managed to get a few seconds of the playtime recorded.

Beginning of February

Chris started working later hours this week because tax season has begun. After only a few days, I learned a few new tricks for entertaining Maura and Brody in hopes that they will stay awake later than 7:00pm to see Chris. You can see in the photos below that I allowed them to eat the combs after having a bath. Hey, at least it bought me ten more minutes of awake time!

Below are some pictures of Maura and Brody before church this morning. We bought Brody some new shoes yesterday, so he was sporting those! Maura was wearing a new dress that her Lulu made several weeks ago. I really did not think it would be warm enough for her to wear it yet, but the weather was nice enough to wear it today.

Ten Months Old

Maura and Brody are now ten months old, and I cannot even stop to think where the time has gone. I am so blessed to be able to stay at home- for the most part- during this time. I say for the most part because I do travel to Atlanta once or twice each month. However, those trips give Chris time alone with Maura and Brody, and it gives the grandparents another reason to come visit! We are so thankful for all they do to help us!

Grandmother Thomas came to stay this past weekend while
I was in Atlanta for meetings.

Maura and Brody played back and forth over the chair for nearly ten minutes this morning. They are wearing the little corduroy jackets that my mom made, but I did not do
a very good job of getting a close up of the jackets.

This was the all out fight for Maura's hair bow.
Brody snatched the bow right out of her hair.
Maura reached over and grabbed it right back with a look of ownership on her face.
Brody tried to throw his body into her to get the bow, but Maura stood firm
and was the last one holding the bow!

I think they both are getting to the point of not being interested in photos.
Every time I tried to get a good shot this morning, something (Chatham) was
always more interesting!
